Halley girl had her first day of school this week. I am not a crier... I was just so proud and excited for her. She absolutely thrives and shines when she is learning. I love her excitement and simple joy in the fact she gets to go to school. I really hope that lasts until college.
Her grandma sprung for the cute butterfly backpack. I love this picture because right now the backpack is nearly as big as she is. Each year it will get a bit smaller. That might actually bring some tears to my eyes.
Ebay has been good to me this week. I was able to sell Jason's original iPhone for a small fortune. Nearly double what we had even hoped for. To a man in Portugal of all places. I guess the old version is unlockable so computer savvy people can use it on non AT&T networks. With the Ebay proceeds we were able to get TWO new iPhone 3G's!!!! Bye bye ghetto phone that I have been suffering with for over two years. Hello emails on the go! I also finally, finally won a yard of this ridiculous mermaid fabric that has been out of print forever. I have been bidding and losing for over six months. Yuck. I am not competitive and don't want to overpay, but constantly losing was getting annoying. Halley is desperate for me to make her a dress out of it. I fought so hard for it that I feel like it's almost too precious to cut, but now that I will have not one, but two little girls to hand it down to, I think I can make the sacrifice.
On a random note... does anyone have this Shark Steam Mop? Another infomercial temptation. We have laminate floors (which I love) but they are constantly creepy and I don't want to pull out the chemicals daily to clean them. It looks so easy on TV! My floors can't be nearly as dirty as the fake ones with fake dirt right? Give me an honest opinion.
Great ebay scores!!
ReplyDeleteIs that the one from Target? My friend G just got one the other day and raved about it working well. I'm going to check one out next time I'm there as I have annoying linoleum that we aren't replacing anytime soon and a large kitchen.
oh yeah...sometimes ebay can be gooood! that's awesome! i know how annoying it is to keep getting outbid at the last second....now i use auctionsniper.com----love it!
ReplyDeletemy MIL has one and came over to demonstrate--works well. you still put a lot of effort into pushing it around, but it did clean the floor.
ReplyDeleteI was browsing blogs and saw your question about the Shark Steam Mop - I love mine. We have hardwood, laminate and tile and the Shark cleans them all wonderfully and saves my knees at the same time! If you keep up with your floors, i.e. Swiffer them or run the vaccum over them for dust, etc. you'll save your Steam Mop pads and won't get a furball like string of lint with every push or glide of the mop. If your floors are fairly dirty you'll want to switch the pads out so buy the extra pads. If you have a Bed, Bath and Beyond nearby you can use their 20% off coupon and get a great deal. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteI have a similiar steamer, not that exact one and I really like it. It is almost as easy as sweeping and I can do my big hardwood floors relatively fast!
ReplyDeletehow cute does you little one look all ready for school!!??? I love that age:)
ReplyDeleteYour little one looks so excited for her first day of school! I am hoping that mine are equally excited on Monday!
ReplyDeleteomigosh, i love that mermaid fabric!! you have to wonder why companies stop making such adorable prints like that.
ReplyDeleteI bought my shark last week and I love it! I think regular mops are gross and you can't tell me that pushing around some old grungy mop really does more than push last weeks dirt around on your floor. I used my Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon and got the $99 dollar one for the $79 dollar price and it gave me three of the cleaning pads free. I don't like all the chemicals and refuse to use commercial cleaners so this was perfect for me. I have a 6 year old and 3 year old and it has done the trick.
