Why do bloggers take pictures of themselves in their cars?
Perhaps a picture to celebrate the rare such occasion.
anyway...
Old Navy hooked me up with some new shades for $4.
I think they are rad.
My children however, have a different take on them.
Halley: "Mom, you look weird."
Me: "Cute, weird or weird, weird?"
Lucy: "WEIRD, WEIRD!!!!!"
as she laughs hysterically running through the house screaming "MOMMY LOOKS WEIRD!!!"
That came from this same child who deems it perfectly normal to wear my "not-weird" sunglasses throughout an entire meal. So if you saw a beans and rice obsessed, future's so bright, three year old wearing obnoxious zebra sunglasses at Wahoo's yesterday, she is not mine. I have never seen her before. Even if she was wearing my name tag from bible study.
Roots from picture one.
Gone.
Yay.
At the end of my appointment, my parents dropped Lucy and Janey off with me.
107 foils and all. (Yes, I counted.)
Talk about looking weird.
But, that was not the weird part.
Five times by five different people I was told "He's so cute!" about Janey.
Yes, isn't he just so very handsome in pink?
Then, to make it even stranger, I was holding Janey in my lap and Lucy was standing at my feet while I was at the shampoo bowl.
A sweet lady came up to me and asked in all seriousness:
"Are they twins?"
For reals. She really wanted to know.
If my 3 1/2 year old and 8 month old were twins.
Seriously.
I am not kidding.
Either was she.
Twins.
I did not even know what to say.
Because if they were twins, I could have a sweet reality show on TLC and totally buy this. Plus, I wouldn't be getting my hair done at the. creepiest. weirdest. "salon". ever.
Twins.
Seriously.
Twins.
Seriously.
Oh you just made me LOL for reals ;-) YOu would be suprised. My twins are like 10 lbs apart people think im lying when I say that yes they are twins.. and YES I am PRETTTY sure.. haha and I think the sunglasses are totally cool
ReplyDeletei once got asked if my sister (6 years younger) was my daughter. weirdos!
ReplyDeleteI know... there are bunch of weirdos on without a filter.
ReplyDeleteI totally had someone ask me if my 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old were twins the other day. I wanted to be like, "Yes, they are, but we only feed this one. Hence, the 10 inch height difference."
ReplyDeleteLOL, twins?! That may be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
ReplyDeleteSince foils are $5 each around here, my sister and I started doing each other's. We bought the supplies at a beauty store for under $20 and we've used them for over a year now!
Oh and people are always thinking my 9 month old nephew is a girl. He's got blue on! Usually with little trucks or dinosaurs!
i love anthropologie. and you crack me up. seriously.
ReplyDeletep.s. the waiter where we went out to eat last week asked me how old "he" (my daughter wrapped in a pink blanket) was. maybe he'd had a long day.
ReplyDeletehilarious!
ReplyDeleteLOL TWINS!!! LOL LOL some people are seriously insane!
ReplyDeleteLove the glasses(on you and LuLu) and Janey......oh.....heart melter fo sho.
Hilarious! However, the twins question might be one you end up getting a lot - my girls are 6 and 3 (my oldest being at least a head taller than her little sister) and we are ALWAYS asked if they are twins. Like every single time we go shopping. I don't get it!
ReplyDeletep.s. cute sunglasses!
Thank you for making me laugh so hard.
ReplyDeleteDude, you attract weirdos. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I like you so much.
My daughter was also a baldy and I was constanly told what a cute boy she was, even when she was decked out in pink. People are crazy.
My girls ARE twins, but people keep asking me if they are identical....I have to bite by tongue from asking them if they are BLIND. One is blonde, the other brunette...they look NOTHING alike. I mean, they don't even look RELATED. Identical...gee whiz.
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh... too cute, your daughter calling you weird! haha
ReplyDeleteLOL- people used to call my Nadi-B a "he" all the time... even when she was completely decked out in pink... with hair bows... and earings..
ReplyDeleteI'm still laughing about the twins because my husband and his younger sister used to get asked if they were twins all the time. The wierd part? If they said yes, they would ask who was the oldest. The wierder part? If Tim informed them that he was by two years they never even blinked... like that was normal.
People are crazy. My 5 year old and 2 year old get called twins all the time and I think that is weird, but man I think this takes the cake.
ReplyDeleteMy best friends girls are 22 months apart, and they get asked ALL THE TIME if they are twins. It cracks me up. When they were littler, I took care of them while Mom worked. The younger one was in the carrier, and the older one was walking beside the stroller, and someone asked me if they were twins. LMBO.
ReplyDeleteOh, and my daughter was a boy for her entire first year, lol. In pink. I used to just smiled and nodded and said thank you, lol.
You crack me up! Love the glasses (on you and Lucy!) and your hair looks fab!!
ReplyDeletePeople drive me nuts when they ask about children - I wonder if they are looking through different eyes then the rest of the population - my child is dressed in pink with her ears pierced - she is a girl!!!!! Grrrr... I don't understand stupid people - and twins - LOL - yep that would be a first - only 3 years apart - ha!
ReplyDeleteYour post made me laugh so hard. The things people say . . . what the heck?? I don't know if I've ever commented on your blog before but i love it. My husband has been in youth ministry for 10+ years so I relate to ya! Thanks for hte GREAT laught tonight. I had my hair done today too!!
ReplyDeleteOK, I am going to hope and pray that that lady meant "sisters" instead of "twins" .... otherwise this world is a lot more confused than I thought!
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see that california blonde hair.
ReplyDeleteand your handsome little guy in the pink carseat.
ha.
This totally cracked me up LOL! Sometimes I really think people have their blinders on. Once when my oldest daughter was about a year old with little pigtails and earrings in her hair dressed in pink, I had someboday say, "oh what a cute little guy!"
ReplyDeletePeople blow my mind all the time. I've also been asked if my 2.5 yr old and 8 month old are twins. I'm usually caught off guard and speechless. Yours takes the cake, though!
ReplyDeleteWow. Really?! I can't even begin to understand how she thought that.... Really?!
ReplyDeleteI like your sunglasses :)
Pretty sweet.
Will I seriously have to answer these sorts of goofy questions when my little one comes in March? Dude! I can't stand stupid people as it is!
ReplyDeleteYou should have told that lady "Yes, they're twins, but happen to be 3 years apart." Stupid questions get stupid answers in my book :-)
I'm so in love with your blog! I'm glad you got your fake OC blonde back on. I need to get mine soon. My friend keeps talking about how she's amazed that my kids aren't blonder - cuz my hair is so light. LOL Really? See my roots? Not so much. Hee, hee
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! :P
ReplyDeletebahaha!
ReplyDeleteTwins?! That's crazy!
PS I put Micah in a pink polo and blue and white shorts for easter... SO cute! and yes, people thought he was a she. Oh well.
I love reading your blogs & ur girls are absolutely adorable! Love ur tuts 2 =]
ReplyDeleteHaha! Why are people so...strange?!
ReplyDeleteThe twins part made my laugh so hard! I would have asked...really? Are you serious right now? Haha!
love your "non weird" sunglasses! too fun! I finally blogged about our freecycle window. Hope you aren't disappointed. http://thecraftmonkey.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteOh, I need my own show too, so I can have the jacket. So incredibly cute.
