Lulu's preschool has a new weird rule.
No dresses or skirts.
I guess they interfere with play and movement.
Deep breath.
All we do around here is dresses and skirts.

Lucy is dramatic.
Jeans and pants "bug her."
Plus they always are falling off and she is
constantly getting recruited by plumbing companies.

So I begged my much-better-at-patterns and
not over-the-edge-with-moving mom to make
Lulu a batch of "non-bugging" pants using this pattern.

But her new pants don't match her t-shirts and
all of the plain tees that I have are currently in storage.
This is the best I came up with.
She is not a sassy surfer.

Fabric and
a number 3
(this will become Janey's eventually, so I didn't want to use an L.)
using American Typewriter in 700 pt.

One funky monkey.

  2. OMG that is so cute. What a great idea for a t-shirt. Especially now that finding plain t-shirts seems to get harder and harder....I am not into all of the graphic t's....but I LOVE that, and think how cute with an initial or mono on it!! Cute, cute, cute!!

By the way I think that is a "stupid" rule

  16. I can't remember how I "found" you but now I can't leave you alone. I love to check my RSS reader first thing in the morning to see what cuteness you have for the day and what inspiration you'll tempt me with next. Your girls are C.U.T.E! I can't imagine preschool w/out skirts & dresses. Ack! I have 2 little princess, 6 and 4 and a too cool for school little boy, 2 years old. I just love your family, in an admiring, want to live next door sort of way, not a creepy stalker way. I want to repurpose some shirts now too! oh, you are too too talented. Best wishes.

  19. So. Flipping. Cute. Seriously!!! I don't know how we would survive if dresses and skirts weren't allowed. As it is flip-flops aren't allowed and every Wednesday and Friday morning we have a flip-flop fight!

  20. Great outfit -- and we'd be in big trouble with that rule!

  21. Those pants are very very cute and I have to have a pair for my Daughter. As for the no skirts and dress rule, we are wearing tights and bikers. Now if the weather would just make up it's mind.

    Love it!

  23. I probably wouldn't have handled it as calmly as you... You know the whole making lemonade from lemons. But you did it the right way. She is too stinkin' cute!!! (I think I would be a little rebellious and wear a skirt anyway... Footloose style)

  26. What a silly rule. I love the pants. If she ever wants to wear a skirt to school, just have her wear some cute leggings underneath and take off the skirt for school. My boys wear leggings under snowsuits (this ain't Orange County) all winter. At preschool all the little Swedish kids (boys and girls) run around in leggings. Super cute!
