Weird... I pulled out the pizza cutter to cut our Shrove Tuesday pancakes for the first time ever the other day. I was amazed I'd never thought of it before, though I can't say Kate taught me!
I loved their show in the early days. But sadly, their fame ruined them. Anyways,I actually learned the pizza cutter tip when I was a Pampered Chef consultant. And b/c of it, I would carry one around in my diaper bag. It made dinners out with the kids so easy b/c you could cut everything up in a snap. Love your blog! Sarah
Haha! ok, I didn't know they cost $7000 but yes, those extensions are even more creepy then a reverse mullet (or whatever her hair cut was considered before!) And Pizza cutters are great for cutting lots of yummy stuff!
She always made me feel better, when the kids were little. When I was a new SAHM, I would get stressed and then think "Kate has 8 kids and does it alone, I can handle one!"
Ha, ha, ha! Love it! I do love my kitchen scissors the most though. I had a good laugh about the commenter that said they carried theirs in their diaper bag. That is hilarious.
If you watched the early episodes...Jon used a knife to cut frennch toast and it took him forever....and subsequently on their web site NUMEROUS fans suggested they use a pizza cutter...and they acknowledged it on one of their episodes....anyway long story short...I watched that show and tracked their web site in the early days...and ever since I've used a pizza cutter too...now I'm a fan of the pizza cutter, no longer of fan of Jon and Kate :)
Pizza cutters are the BEST for brownies too! And you can credit that one to Alton Brown!
You actually put parchment under them and leave enough hanging over the edges to use it to pull the entire sheet of brownies out of the pan. Then you cut with a pizza cutter while they are still warm and then let them cool.
Amen, Amen!!! Love pizza cutters, but my Pampered Chef chopped took the prize for easy cutting when my boys were little...life saver when you need to cut 3 plates of spaghetti!
So now I don't ever want to use a pizza cutter for anything other than pizza, because someone might think that Kate taught me that trick. Thanks for ruining that for me lol!
Just kidding...pizza cutters are awesome. I can't let go of that trick. Plus I have 5 cutters in the drawer in case one is dirty...
AMEN!!!!!
ReplyDeletetotally agree with all three.

Don't give her too much credit. Next thing you know she'll be walking around proudly telling everyone that she was featured on Julie's blog.

ReplyDeleteapparently i am the only person in the known universe who had no clue about this trick. hey thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat?! You learned this from Kate? I've blogged that trick before!
ReplyDeleteHmph.

loove the pizza cutter! that's where i realized there were other uses too!
ReplyDeleteI am partial to the kitchen shears. I call them "shears" to distract from the fact that I am cutting food with scissors. But I love them.
ReplyDeletelol, this post cracked me up! i should try the pizza cutter trick sometime!
ReplyDeleteI have another Kate quote I use all the time...it's not very nice, but it always makes people laugh.
ReplyDelete"crying...it's like white noise in our house"
Yep. I agree!
ReplyDeleteand..ummm... we were using pizza cutters to cut pancakes, waffles, etc. WAY before Jon & Kate. LOL
