awww... aren't we cute?
I have had bunches of questions about the necklace,
the ginormous, random, rainbow of awesome necklace,
so I thought I would give you a run down of how you could make one.
Not a tutorial...
because I used a bunch of different tutorials to make it.
so here we go:
Here is the pretty.
Here is the piece by piece details on the pretty:
1. Pom pom fringe from Christopher Pines.
3. Covered button.
4. & 5. Burnt edge posies.
6. & 7. Velvet flower embellishments from Christopher Pines.
8. & 9. Frayed rosettes.
10. Yo-yo with a covered button.
11. Vintage daisy pin from Etsy.
I made/collected each piece and then moved them around and around until I liked the arrangement. Then one by one I hot glued them onto a piece of felt. Then I trimmed the extra felt, glued on the pom-pom fringe and hand sewed a necklace clasp.
It is crazy.
It is giant.
It makes me happy.
I'd love to see what jumble of fun you could come up with.
you are so cute, with a darn good eye for color!!! Lord, let me not covet Julie's skill, amen. :)
ReplyDeleteso stinkin' creative. love. as usual.
ReplyDeleteOh, yay! This necklace makes me happy! It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo, I've been perusing your site all day long. I've been following you for awhile actually, but for some reason since your stinkin' cute photo shoot, I have not been able to put my finger on why I LOVE your blog so much. I think I figured it out. I've always thought I had a hodgepodge of ideas when it comes to colors, but because of fear I have always stayed pretty basic and simple. I found out through your blog that I need to break outside my comfort zone because I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your mix and match fabrics, colors and textures. It just makes me happy. So, really, the reason I visit your blog is because of that, it makes me happy! :) Thanks! (oh and it also gets my creative wheels turning!!)

ReplyDeleteI'm on my hubby's Mac (sorry so NOT a fan of Mac's, going through right click withdraw), still waiting on a computer part. :( But I will have to give you the link of the necklace I love on Etsy once I get my computer back up and running.
Going to go check out the rest of your photos now! ;)
P.S. Love the grown up pin you made! I've been meaning to order some messy flower pins from you for gifts and well to tell you the truth...ME, ME, ME! But now I'm going to wait...let me know when you have some of those super beautiful grown up pins in your shop. Would love something in purple if you ever let anything that color come into your craft room that is...he he ;)

ReplyDeleteExcept for the pom-poms. I'm very anti-pom-pom, which seems to make me anti-crafter... Everyone loves them except me!
