Welcome to the crazy that is my brain.

This is something that happens all the time.
All. The. Time.

I have a project.
That I am desperate to do.
But then I don't get to it.
Standard.

Until finally I do.  I have everything that I need.
It is at the top of the queue.
In fact often it is a simple project.
This one was a simple as it gets.

Just spray paint some frames.
I could do that in my sleep, although the stink would most likely wake me up.

So, back to the project.

I gather my supplies.
Block out some time.
Start painting.

But then something happens.
Something unexpected.
Something crazy awesome.

The current project suddenly turns into a whole new project.
A new project that needs new supplies.

Instead of finishing the first one, I abandon it completely and begin to plan the new and exciting one.

Exhibit A:
The remnants of the original project.
That segued into the current project.

For now, I am waiting for paint to dry,
and thinking of new projects.

  6. The story of my life.
I get all pumped about a project I want to do.
    I gather all the supplies.
Then I end-up doing a completely different project altogether.

I have all the supplies to make one of those wreaths made from the pages of a book all gathered in the craft room. They have been in the same place since Christmas! aah!! Need. To. Do. It.

p.s. is that a frame from Ikea? or the Umbra brand frames? (can't wait to see!)

  14. Hmmm, I've had my crafty little eyes on that "back-splash" fabric you use to protect your surfaces while painting.......but is it "art"?
    I think so.
Your girls are so gorgeous btw.
Their little faces put a much needed smile on my dial this morning!

  16. I absolutely love the colors. So pretty.

I totally get the project procrastination thing....I finally posted pictures of a project today that I started in February. And it still isn't 100%.

I can't wait to see your project!!! Looks like it will be a great one!!!

  18. Oh man! I'm like this too! I have a zillion projects to do and a lot unfinished. I get excited & move onto others things & slowly come back to them! It doesn't help when squishy new babies are born into the world! Then you switch tasks to a lot of baby things!& if its for a girl there are a bunch of girly things you can do! I think I have an idea on what you are doing..does it have to do with silhouettes? If not I cant wait to see the finished project! having a scatter brain is the way to be!

  20. That totally happens to me too... in fact, I have a whole LIST of projects I want to get done that are fairly easy, but they too get put on hold for months at a time and then I start a new project.

My craft area (notice I didn't say room :)) is next to our living room and I have a HUGE stack of fabric. It's beginning to look like a jungle in there!

Can't wait to see what you're making!

    Kind Regards,
    Nicole

  22. You suffer from "but first" disease. I do as well and unfortunately there is no cure. I go about my day, start to do something and bam...but first I need to do this, but first I should try that, but first...on and on and on until I can't even remember what I was originally doing. At least you are getting some beautiful art in the end. :)

  23. I love the project!! I saw that then read this post; I absolutely adore your description because it is SO me, in every sense of the word. My brain moves a million miles an hour with ideas (that honestly it's hard for me to get ANYTHING done!!) I wish I could just think it and *poof* have it be done (because there are just too many good things to do!)
