  11. I hate these... and yes, they do (unfortunately) sell them in stores. And my nephew was wearing one the other day- I'll stick to my cloth, thanks! ;)

  12. Thank goodness they are limited edition.

Maybe 5th grade boys were in charge of the ad campaign. My 5th grader loves the commercial.

  13. I see these popping up all over... seriously, the diaper equivalent to jhorts is not cool. At all.

Never been so happy to be a Pampers mom...

  21. I can't believe that is a real commerical! I poo in blue? gross!

  28. "My diaper is full of chic" - sounds like Saturday Night Live. I saw these in the store. Is that a real commercial or a gag commercial? It seems strange that moms- the usual buyers of diapers- would respond well to all those adults (many men) staring at their baby?

  29. Ha! When I first saw this commercial - I immediately thought of you.

    No. It is not okay.

  30. Too funny! I saw them for the first time on your blog...I thought it was a joke...then I saw them at walmart...I couldn't believe it!

  33. There's nothing like a toddler in speedo's! BARF.

Sometimes I wonder how ideas get past the marketing department.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Seriously. ABSURD. This clip is more like an SNL spoof than a commercial...at least they're "limited edition" & will go away!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow that's a bad commercial. I heard that the blue dye they used was coming off on babies legs and their bottoms when the diaper got wet. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was rather shocked until my 11yo explained the concept to me. These are for the baby whose parents bring them to the grocery, etc in nothing but their diaper, embarrassing even for a baby. Now people will think they really have pants on. It's a public service.

  37. Haha! I heard 2 women going crazy over jean diapers in the store the other week & I had no clue...now I do! LOL Yes..Not ok! :-)

  39. I bought these for my child as a joke for his teachers to see. Of course, he isn't allowed to leave the house without pants covering them up. I usually like to buy the latest novelty item just to be funny. But like a previous commenter said, they did get blue all over his legs like I worried they would. And as far as the "chic" denim look goes, um, no, it just looks like I put a blue diaper on my kid - you can't even tell there is a design on them.

Thanks for the laugh Huggies, but next time, try harder! Pack to the Pampers please.

  40. This commercial only strengthens my position for cloth diapers.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I contacted huggies customer service as I really felt strongly about seeing more of the blog world seeing this as unacceptable.
The rep that phoned me back was a woman and a mother and she, while not agreeing as it's not her place, when I asked if she'd seen the ad?, made it clear to me that she would document my points as they were quite valid.

I suggest if the media world is not agreeing with your values then more of us need to say so to the people that count. We do have a voice. And I felt mine was heard today.

    I sound hard core, don't I?
    :)

  42. so glad someone else agrees - can't stand that commercial.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh my goodness!! - I'm so glad I'm not the only ones who thinks these are appalling!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Its just a commercial! Its cute, its funny and its very clever. I have 8 grandchildren that I have seen wear every type of diaper on the market. I'm not getting why so many of you are so "freaked out"?? Have none of you bought lil swimmers for your babies? Same type of thing as these denim diapers, only different commercial. None of you have let your babies walk around in a diaper on a very hot day? My goodness, you ladies need to mellow out a bit and take this as it is. Nothing more than a diaper commercial.

  45. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that things this is just weird.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That made me laugh so loud I woke up the cat. "The coolest you'll ever look pooping your pants" !!!! Hhahahahahaha!!!
I don't get what's creepy about it. Ridiculous, absurd, crass and disgusting? Yes. But mostly hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I thought it was hilarious!!!!!! It makes me laugh so hard. Very Zoolanderish. ha ha ha.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I dont really have an opinion on the commercial, but I have NO issue with the diapers. I bought a pack for $5 and think they're kind of cute. I dont understand the huge uproar about them,.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are you all so young that you don't remember pink and blue diapers from the '80s? Most of you were probably sporting the punk ones without even knowing it. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  50. That's pink, it's pretty sure that most of your moms had you wearing the pink ones. The commercial is strange, tho. My fave line, "Makes number two look like a number one" Say wha?!? LOL!
