How can I get a job where the only qualification is to love fruit?
A job where the only requirement is to eat fruit? A lot a lot a lot of fruit?
Because I would be AMAZING at that job. I would even be cool with letting my kids break child labor laws to work.
We would all work seven days a week. 365 days a year. Without asking for overtime pay.
In fact we wouldn't even ask for wages. Just free fruit, as much as we could eat, all of the time.
We would be employees of the year. Of the decade. Our fruit stained faces would grace the cover of Forbes.
Sign me up. Just not for bananas. If it was a banana company I would be fired in thirty seconds.

fun picture. Just found your blog a few days ago. God bless. Thanks for sharing your story, which includes the ones from today!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun (: (Totally agree on the bananas)
ReplyDeleteHa ha. One summer me and 4 of my siblings all worked on a strawberry farm. We got paid & could eat as many strawberries as we wanted. We did, the first day only. It was difficult riding our bikes home after we ate all the strawberries our bellies could hold. We weren't sure we were going to make it to the bathroom in time.
ReplyDeleteYou guys need a garden. :)
ReplyDeletei would LOVE that job too! except with Grapefruits. yummo. :)
ReplyDeletei have a VERY specific acceptable window for bananas. slightly green on top and bottom and BRIGHT yellow. not a hint of brown anywhere. otherwise they are dead to me.
ReplyDeleteyum... i am currently only eating fruits, veggies and nuts for the next 5 weeks. i am disgusted by the brown/mushy fruit... give me fresh/crisp!
ReplyDeleteI would also do overtime. My only exception would be papaya.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know my family isn't the only one that goes through gobs and gobs of fresh fruit!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a huge banana fan either unless they are in something, like ice cream, yogurt fruit salad, peanut butter sandwich or mixed with mandarine oranges...but just plain...nah!
Me too! Oh and bananas are a staple around here. How 'bout bananas dipped in chocolate, then rolled in sprinkles or peanuts. Any better?
ReplyDeleteIf you find it let me know! Gorgeous pictue by the way. I forgot to comment on your last post. I have three daughters also, and then came our little boy. He is a whole new beautiful adventure. I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeletewhat strawberry stand do you go to?
ReplyDeletei go to the one in san juan behind farm to market....amazing.
I have the same dream...but with ice cream! (and maybe diet coke too) :-)
ReplyDeleteYum! Blackberries, all day, everyday. Love them. Not enough to move to Oregon, but I do love them so much!
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me, my kids and I go through strawberries like they are going out of style. I am so happy that we are in California because we have fabulous strawberries!
ReplyDeleteyour sense of humor never fails to make me laugh. thanks for that.
ReplyDeletei can almost like bananas if they are smeared with peanut butter.
almost.
if you got a job at jamba juice, then i go to that one and could be assured the pitcher was cleaned out so no banana fumes would mix into my concoction. because i can detect even the slightest leftover banana fume since they're gross. and their apple cinnamon oatmeal would be a sweet bonus for you too. DO IT.
ReplyDeleteI think we'd have some willing fruit workers in this house too! I seem to spend a fortune keeping our fruit ball full. I'd also do very, very well as a chocolate eater :) Maybe fruit AND chocolate... yum.
ReplyDeleteoops, fruit BOWL!! x
ReplyDeleteTropical Smoothie?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- fruit is awesome... I love the way one of my kindergarteners put it when we were discussing how God gave us such a vast variety of fruit/vegetables/plants/etc... she said, "Yes! Fruit is Jesus-Candy"! :)
funniest thing about this post is that i can actually hear you saying it! made me smile so big! :)
ReplyDeleteYES! Sign me up too. Especially for the no bananas part!
ReplyDeletei would work there also. 3/4 of my grocery bill is for produce.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fruit lover too! I think grapefruit is the only one I really the only one I don't like. Kind of picky about my bananas, as I like them on the greener side.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
I came across your blog while searching for a cute way to store headbands. And though I did find an extremely cute way to store headbands I found so much more. I read your story and cried. Read some blog posts and I was inspired. Read some more and well laughed...you are so funny! Especially the banana company quote...classic...completely agree! Thank you for sharing so much and for inspiring me to be a better person and mother. I love your quote about how you live for the sound of your children's noisy little voices in the morning. What a lovely way to put it! Sending prayers for you throughout this pregnancy and beyond. Thanks-Dede
