She just turned five.
Which I have decided is the best age in the world.
Old enough to do most everything unassisted,
yet small enough that not much is expected of you.
No bills.
No job.
No taxes.
No laundry.
No homework.
Daily naps.
Personal chauffeur.
In house cook and cleaning service.
Pretty much all play, no worries.
I am so figuring out a way to switch places with her.
Being a grown up is overrated.

5 is amazing. they are so much fun at 5. And are those Wahoo's beans and rice? if so, give me some of those!
ReplyDelete5 is amazing:) and so fun! I can just imagine her giggle; i bet it is musical:)

Happy Birthday, Lulu! XO!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your little one!! Oh to be 5 again! That age is tops.

I look forward to that age!! Happy birthday!!
ReplyDeleteWait- your 5 year old NAPS?? Not fair.
ReplyDeletelovely post. five is a great age, I agree with you.
ReplyDeletethe rice & beans on her plate look yummy.
5 IS the best! My favorite age. Much better than 3, that's for sure. Does Lulu want another sister for her birthday? Because I'm totally giving away a free kid today.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the Birthday Girl was eating vanilla ice cream with brown m&m's! But then after I looked a little closer, I noticed they were beans and it all made sense! High "5" to you, Miss Lucy! Happy Day! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI also am the proud owner of a 5 year old and I totally agree with you . . . the perfect age. I wish he could only know how much he should be apppreciating it while it lasts. :)
ReplyDelete(How have you been feeling, by the way?)
i couldn't agree more!
ReplyDeleteShe's got great eyebrows!
ReplyDeletewhat a pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteThose Carson girls and their eyes, eek so cute1 I personally would love to be 15 again, uh sike. DO I spy Meg's fav lunch in that bowl? One of my favs!
ReplyDeleteWhen you figure out how to change places, please let us know. I've wondered for years how to do it. :)
ReplyDeleteLove her! And completely agree... 5 is awesome! Another perk, the homework load.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you! My 5 year old has made life so much fun. I LOVE seeing life through her eyes. And NO ONE can make me laugh like she does. She and I can get into these laughing fits over the silly-est things and just keep going. I need those laughing sessions every now and then.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sarah
my little girl turns 5 this May, I would have to agree that it is the best age. Everyday is a new adventure with them
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that this adult gig is over-rated. Oh, to be energetic and free of responsibilities again!
ReplyDeleteI agree that 5 is the best. Ask a 5 year old how old they are and they rarely tell you... instead they show you. Oh, to always have the enthusiasm of someone who is a whole-hand old! Happy Birthday to your girl!
ReplyDeleteoh man... i totally agree with you! i have three girls too and my middle is turning 5 in about 3 months. just today as we were driving to preschool i lamented to her that she cannot turn 5 b/c that meant she'd go to kindergarten and who would i play and hang out with all day?! "but mommy i WANT to go to kindergarten!!!" these are some fun times. if only i knew how to freeze frame time with these kiddos. they're so precious!
ReplyDeleteWe just had a little lady turn 5 in our house too! We're only a few days in but I think I'd have to agree with you that it's a pretty amazing age. Happy birthday to your little cutie!
ReplyDeleteAfter working with Kindergartners for years, I totally agree. Five is the best! They are really starting to grasp "things" but are still innocent and so much fun. What I wouldn't give for one day at 5 again. =)
ReplyDeleteso very overrated.
ReplyDelete5 sounds like a great age. Hope she has a lovely birthday :)
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, she is so cute and looks like 'maybe' she could give you a run for your money :)
ReplyDeleteAdorable! My DD would love that bowl she's munching on!
ReplyDeleteone of the main reasons I chose to teach kindergarten ... 5 is an awesome age, you rock it Lulu!!
ReplyDeletei agree. 5 is the best. I spend my days with a bunch of 5 year olds and they are so much fun. Sad to say that it's all down hill from 5. She is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Big 5 Year Old! My oldest will be five at the end of April ---- so very bittersweet for me! I hope Lucy had a fantastic day! :)
ReplyDeleteahhh to be 5 again! :D
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty!
Keeping you in my prayers my dear!
