A perplexing conundrum

I tried to avoid it.
I knew I would get addicted.
I knew that my minutes are sparse and precious.

So I held off.
I stood firm.
I resisted many an attempt to get me to try it.

But then Drew invited me.
She convinced me.
I accepted.

I fell in crazyaddictedcan'tbelievehowmuchitcompletesme love.

Oh Pinterest.
I love/hate you.


I love how pretty you are.
How many ideas you give me.
How you organize my unorganized mind.


(Totally found this font and learned how to make this printable
on Pinterest.  So I suppose I did do a bit of doing. Word.)


But I find that when I could actually be making/ cooking/ baking/ creating all that you show me, I instead sit and find more things to make/ cook/ bake/ create.  A few minutes with you and all is right with the world.  Except I have nothing tangible to show for it.

Hmmmmm....

Chatting with no blog Alicia, she told me about a group of girls she knew who had a Pinterest Party.

They each brought supplies for everyone to make a project they had pinned, and while they worked ate yummy food that they had too found on Pinterest.

I think I needs me a Pinterest Party.

Or an intervention.

How can you pin less and do more?

Off to comb through my boards to find what would be at the top of my list....

    i hear you! i'm hooked. have felt so convicted in last few weeks to actually do something - and stop pinning so much. i did one project earlier this week and it made me feel better but i still have so much i'd love to do!

    Oooooh I LOVE pinterest! At first I totally didn't "get it" but now I have to cut myself off after hours of scavenging for cute ideas! I want to do a pinterest party where guests gather and bring stuff to create Christmas gifts. :)

    Don't get me started! I'm on pinterest like it's my day, afternoon, & night job! Pins I've hearted lately are...A recipe for reese's cup crescent rolls, Essie Matte Finger nail polish, & An awesome Halloween eye chart that I had printed out as a 16x20!!!!     Hey there! I have followed you for a while. Love your blog, love your craftiness and loved viewing your Pinterest favs!! I have a huge favor to ask. I have requested and requested to join Pinterest and I'm not sure if they are just overwhelmed with request but I have yet to receive an invite. I want to start pinning so badly and find it very odd that I haven't recieved an email from them yet. Could you please, please invite me to join? I would forever be grateful.     I may be the only person who HATES Pinterest. I feel like it's a huge waste of time. If I want to do a craft, I'll Google it. If I want to try a new recipe, I'll Google it. To me, Pinterest has great ideas but you spend 99% more time LOOKING at random pictures than you do MAKING anything similar.

    I can't get enough of that site! A pinterest party is such a cute idea! I agree though that I keep adding more to my list of things to make rather than actually making anything. But it is oh so fun and a great way to zone out, after the kids are asleep of course and not during homework time:-)

    I resisted as well but am now completely hooked - anytime I see something Star Wars or Chewbacca related, or font related (i.e. Comic Sans...ha, ha) I think of some of your past posts... :)

    If I didnt limit myself to 30 min, I'd spend HOURS on Pinterest. I actaully dont pin that much. I also wish you could have "hidden" boards...like I wanted the party ideas for my sons party to be a "secret" until the guest showed up! Is that weird?

    I have made several things that I have pinned on Pinterest (recipes, crafts, etc.) so that's how I justify it. It is a huge time-suck, but time wasted spending something you enjoy is not wasted time is it?

I have tried several recipes, most have been good, a couple not so much. But I just love the ideas! This is the first time I have ever organized anything in my life!

    Oh my I so agree! I just joined pinterest a week or so ago and I am soooo addicted to it wonderful organisation capabilities. I am having a home day with the kid lets today so I am planning on making one thing from my Kitchen Goodness board and one from my sewing inspiration board. "Pins i can check off the list" Now i repin any pin that i have completed, made, done, bought, etc. This way I can keep tabs on the stuff that i am accomplishing. Kinda makes me feel good!

    Maybe someone has already mentioned this? I have started a "Pinterest Challenge" board (http://pinterest.com/emedoodle/pinterest-challenge-things-i-ve-actually-done-insp/) where I re-pin anything that I've actually tried (in a perfect world I'd also comment on it as to how well it turned out - for the next guy). I like the act of checking things off the list so to say. It's pretty cool to see what I have to show for myself too. Recipes tried and cleaning tips used... and sometimes fabric bought! :)
